Doing good for their communities

THEY stood up against the drug dealers.

And now residents in one part of Huddersfield have come together to give their area a real sense of community.

Residents of Bunny Park in Lockwood have just been given a ground floor flat to use as a small community centre thanks to Housing Association Places For People.

They are looking at organising mother and toddler groups, luncheon clubs for the elderly and disabled along with bingo nights.

In short, people of all ages are set to benefit from their hard work.

They have reclaimed their area and now want to promote it in a positive way by creating a new sense of pride.

It just shows what can be done when people join together with a common cause to do good for their communities.
