IN A week when the Examiner has been encouraging people to voice their views on the future of the town centre it is good to hear about one Huddersfield village that is bucking the tough economic trend.

Love Lindley is more than just the name of the group set up by local business-owners and residents of the bustling suburb to showcase the village and shops as well as raise vital funds for local charities.

It is also an attitude which has brought the whole community together. People are proud of their area, of its individuality but also of the strength it has found in working together.

And that surely is an inspiration to be found in other villages enjoying similar success and a lesson for those who will ultimately decide on the best way forward for our town centre
