DRUGS destroy lives, that is clear.
But for one Almondbury woman her life was destroyed by someone else taking the drugs – her son.
The family and friends of Sean Jenkinson said goodbye to him this week after he died of a suspected lethal dose of heroin.
Despite her efforts, Sean couldn’t kick his habit.
His mother Maria has spoken of the devastation of losing a son in such tragic circumstances.
Her words will strike a cord with family and friends of anyone who has succumbed to drugs.
Family members can do all they can, but it is the drug user themselves who needs to find the will to give up.
For Sean that is too late, but perhaps his mother’s words will help get the message across that the devastation of drugs extends to more than just the user.
