Delight for Light

I AM glad to see that Clr Robert Light is so excited at the prospect of the council getting another award. The council is doing much better, it would appear, since it dropped the word “metropolitan” from its title.

However, I think these governmental awards are less to do with the service Kirklees Council provides and everything to do with the council’s success with meeting government targets on spending restrictions.

Success, it appears, is measured on one’s ability to cut services.
