Low income tax surprise

THERE’S been an awful lot of heat generated on the subject of the scrapping of the 10% level of income tax but let me try to shed a bit of light on the real situation.

I am one of the five million plus people on a low income (state pension and a small occupational pension) and I was expecting to be worse off after this came into force at the beginning of April.

To my amazement I am actually over £30 a month better off. I’d be interested to know how many more people have found this to be the case – I’m sure I can’t be the only one.
