They were crackers!

THEY are crackers for having the circus in Greenhead Park in the first place. I’m not surprised about this. At one time the biggest wagon on the roads was 20 tonnes, but now some of them are 40 tonnes.

In search of family connections

I AM looking for information about John Mason (b 1879) who worked as a textile merchant for Wilkinson and Son in Huddersfield in the early 1900s. He was father to Rex, Colin and James Mason. James, of course was one of Britain’s most famous actors and Huddersfield’s most famous sons. Rex had two children, Christopher (b 1936) and Valerie (b 1940) – they, or their offspring, may still be around in the area. Read
