Language of division

SO, Clr Khan says there’s no room for the BNP’s hate and divisive politics in Kirklees.

He is entitled to his opinion.

On Thursday, May 1, on entering the polling station, I heard a Labour councillor not speaking a word of English. (I would consider speaking the same language paramount to social integration!)

He represents an established British political party and, while in a public place, has a duty to set an example by speaking English.

By not doing so I consider that divisive to social cohesion.

Put ‘Great’ back in Britain

I SEE from reading the papers that the greed of Westminster might be rearing its ugly head again. MPs plotting to pay themselves a £15,000 a year rise, when Joe Public is getting a paycut.

Do these jobsworths not learn? Folk who have fought battles, worked hard and paid their dues only to get a kick in the whatsits by greed. MPs think more of Johnnie Foreigner than they do of the folk who deserve their just rewards.

What this country needs is a new party with guts who will stand up for Joe Public, make prisons a place where no one would want to return, tougher police control on folk with only harm on their minds to this country and more dosh for pensioners.

I could go on and on, but the left wing bleeding hearts will not agree because all they seem to want is turn our once great kingdom into a pit. So, someone out there must want to start a party to bring the great back into Britain – can’t wait.
