Circus tip top

WE went to see the Chinese Circus in Greenhead Park on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon and it was absolutely brilliant. Some of the acts were unbelievable and we enjoyed every minute.

I know the grass has been churned up, but surely with the proper machines and people doing it, it can be put right. It was unfortunate that it had been so wet, but that was nobody’s fault, they couldn’t stop the rain.

I hope that more shows can be put on this summer and they are as enjoyable as the circus.

Spineless action

I CAN’T believe what a spineless country we are turning into after reading about the bail for the preacher Abu Qatada (Examiner May 9).

Don’t the bleeding hearts of this country know that extremists like him are a danger to this land of ours? Why not just let the Home Office and the secret service and our police get on with the job of making Britain safe instead of tying their hands behind their backs?
