Clarity on licensing

IN response to the article “Give ’Em Hell – Officers told to harass and film anti-social yobs” (Examiner May 8) I wish to clarify that TV Licensing is not a government agency.

TV Licensing is a trading name used by agents contracted by the BBC, in their capacity as the Licensing Authority, to administer the collection of television licence fees and enforcement of the television licensing system.

If any of your readers would like further information on TV Licensing, they can contact TV Licensing on 0844 800 5870 or visit www.tvlicensing.co.uk
