‘Apathy’ a winner
May 31 2008 by Andrew Baldwin, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
EXAMINER reader Kathleen Brown had a blast in our letters column this month about the Kirklees Council elections.
She was worried about indifference, but came at it from a different angle to that of voter apathy – claiming it was the candidates who didn’t show much enthusiasm.
Not one person had turned up on her doorstep and there had been no meetings, said Kathleen, who lives in Lindley.
“The electorate certainly should use their votes, but the candidates need to get out more,” she said.
Kathleen wins our May letter of the month prize for expressing her views.
