    I AM aghast at the fickle and cavalier attitude of the Kirklees Council decision to exterminate a healthy dog. The council had an expert’s opinion that this healthy dog was not feral. He was a stray, fending for himself, therefore obviously intelligent. Read

    YOUR reporter needs to read the planning application for the proposed hotel at Aspley Marina more carefully (Examiner July 11). It is not proposed to build it in stone as he claims. The ground floor will be “reconstituted stone” but the three upper floors will be cream coloured render – hardly appropriate for a building in a predominantly stone area facing the listed canal basin.     I’M absolutely disgusted. We got our dog from Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue Centre, Scotland, and even if a dog there has problems they would never put it down. The people at Kirklees want putting down! Read
