My thanks to a brilliant service given by the NHS

HAD to write this letter to praise the NHS on what a brilliant job they did for me.

Monday July 7 – my world fell apart, I found a lump in my breast!

Tuesday July 8 – Thinking I was mistaken. Checking. Trying to convince myself it wasn’t there.

Wednesday July 9 – rang Junction Surgery at Moldgreen, saw Nurse Helen and referred to the Breast Clinic. Horrific day. Devastated! Feared the worse as you do!

Thursday July 10 – Letter arrived, appointment tomorrow.

Friday July 11 – Didn’t want this day to start, but start it did, with a deep breath and a loving husband. Arrived at the clinic, mammogram and scan straight away. Relief! It was a cyst, it was drained, mammogram clear, out of the place in a couple of hours!

Thank you, thank you.

Admiration for Keith

I ADMIRED the way former Chief Constable Keith Hellawell stood up for what he knew was right and just in his Examiner column.

Keith told of the hard life that was his inheritance from being a youngster – which did not spoil him but made him the man God intended him to be.

I am sorry we shall not be hearing from him again as a columnist.

So God bless you Keith and your lovely family.
