Festive fun time

WITH so much doom and gloom at the moment, I have to say that our town is looking great when it’s all lit up.

Now the ice-rink is open there is something to bring families into our town centre and get involved in together, which I feel is something this town misses.

If the council wants ideas for the next 20 years, we need a focal point in our town centre like the ice-rink, which brings people together, gives us the chance to have a bit of fun and have a go at something we’d not usually do.

Even though Huddersfield doesn’t have the best shops and lacks a department store and a few good restaurants, we do have a better town centre than most other towns of our size.

It’s just missing what Simon Cowell would call the X Factor.

My family had a great time at the ice rink last year and will be back again this year.

But what else could we have all year round? Maybe a roller-skating rink?
