FOURTEEN years ago an Elland church launched its first art exhibition – and it’s gone from strength to strength.

The All Saints’ Church is hosting its annual art exhibition and sale next weekend.

And it features a variety of talent with members of locals art clubs, societies and art classes in both Kirklees and Calderdale exhibiting.

In total, 100 artists will showcase 434 paintings.

Organisers have said they’ve had to close the books to exhibitors due to its success.

And they’re coming from near and far – the work of Outlane, Brighouse and Halifax artists will sit alongside artists from Leeds and Keighley.

As well as art work to look at and buy, there will also be craft stalls throughout its run.

The exhibition at the Savile Road church has its preview evening on Friday, April 30, from 7pm until 9.30pm, then is open to the general public on Saturday, May 1, through to Monday, May 3, 10.30am while 5pm, except Sunday when it opens at midday until 5pm.

Admission is £1.50 and everyone is welcome to go along over the Bank Holiday weekend.
