ARTIST Jill Shaddock has landed a place in a top art fair.

Her ceramics will feature alongside work by top artists at the event in Manchester.

Jill impressed her contemporaries after her ceramics collection degree show won praise from industry experts.

She’s a Manchester School of Art student and will exhibit at this year’s Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair (GNCCF) which takes place from October 20-23 at Spinningfields, Manchester.

Her work will be at the prestigious Great Northern Graduates stand, which showcases the very best of this year’s creative degree courses.

Jill, who plans to set up her own ceramics studio after graduation later this month, said: “Being selected for the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair is a fantastic way to begin my career in ceramics design.

“I was lucky enough to be presented with a number of awards at the degree show, all of which open up exciting avenues for me and the GNCCF is certainly a very prestigious opportunity.’’

The Great Northern Graduates stand brings a vibrant element to the show and the successful graduates will gain exposure to leading curators, buyers, journalists, collectors, galleries and the public.

It is hoped that this exposure will provide an essential element in the transition from student to employable designer.

Now in its fourth year, the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair features the work of 140 designer-makers in ceramics, jewellery, textiles, glass, furniture and other fashion, home and interior products.
