Heather Stoney, the actress wife of playwright Alan Ayckbourn, is to make a special appearance on stage at the Lawrence Batley Theatre in one of her husband’s plays.

The production of Bedroom Farce, in which Heather played the character Delia in the 1975 premiere, is part of a day-long celebration of Ayckbourn’s work by Huddersfield theatre company Dick and Lottie.

Absolute Ayckbourn will take the format of a 12-hour ‘readathon’ of six plays, from the well-known classics to the rarely-seen, in a theatrical marathon on Saturday, September 20.

The day will be broken into three sessions of two plays each – featuring The Boy Who Fell Into A Book, Mr A’s Amazing Plays, Bedroom Farce, Wildest Dreams, RolePlay and The Sparrow.

Dick and Lottie, marking its tenth anniversary in showbusiness, is known for its Ayckbourn productions and thought to be the only theatre company devoted to Sir Alan’s works.

Tickets for the shows are available from the box office on www.thelbt.org.uk or 01484 430528.
