Viewers of children’s television in the 1980s will remember Iain Lauchlan of Fingermouse, Play School and Playdays.

Now a writer and director for theatre and television, he’s bringing his new show, Santa’s Dizzy Day to the Victoria Theatre, Halifax, as part of a Christmas tour.

The show is aimed at pre-school children and Iain says it’s perfectly pitched at the very young who may find traditional pantos just too scary to watch. It is on from Thursday, December 4, until Saturday, December 6. Ticket details are available from 01422 351158 or www.victoriatheatre.co.uk

At the nearby Square Chapel Centre for the Arts there’s another seasonal show, The Princess and the Pea, on Sunday, December 7. For those aged between three and seven, the show is a re-telling of the familiar folk tale. For tickets call 01422 349422 or visit www.squarechapel.co.uk
