It’s the summer of the Teddy Bear.

Next weekend sees two performances of the captivating children’s’ show Hugless Douglas, based on the book by bestselling author David Melling and featuring a lovable young brown bear who wakes up one morning in need of a hug.

Produced by the Blunderbus Theatre Company, Hugless Douglas can be see in the Lawrence Batley Theatre Courtyard on Saturday, August 23, and Sunday, August 24, at 11am and 2pm.

Established in 1998, Blunderbus performs for more than 200,000 children each year, touring theatres, schools and festivals across the UK and to sunnier climbes in Malaysia, Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Blunderbus uses actors and puppets to create magical theatre – every puppet, prop and piece of scenery is hand-crafted at its base in Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire.

The company has previously visited the LBT with Dotty the Dragon and The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark.

Hugless Douglas is a blend of singalong songs, puppetry and high energy storytelling.
