A rare opportunity to see a display of traditional Indian dance is on offer on Sunday, March 8, at the Orangebox young people’s centre in Halifax.

In an event celebrating International Women’s Day and the launch of a project to commemorate the centenary of India’s service in World War One, a group of professional Indian dancers based in Calderdale will entertain along with a group of local children.

The Annapurna Indian Dance group, which has received Heritage Lottery Funding for the project, is hosting the afternoon of dance and art, which will also feature an exhibition of artwork, Forgotten Soldiers, by artist and musician Ramya Tangirala.

Entry to the Orangebox is free and the event starts at 2pm.
