Brahm’s D major violin concerto was written for Hungarian virtuoso Joseph Joachim. But on Thursday, December 4, in Huddersfield Town Hall it will be played by Jack Liebeck, international chamber musician and recording artist.
Part of the popular Kirklees Concert Season featuring the Orchestra of Opera North, Scaling the Heights will also include works by two French composers - Debussy’s La Mer and Ravel’s La Valse.
London-born Jack is a professor of violin at the Royal Academy of Music and has a successful recording and concert career. He featured as soloist on the film scores of Jane Eyre (2011) and the 2013 Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA Nominated soundtrack for Anna Karenina (released 2012).
