Operatic superstar Sir Willard White is to appear in Huddersfield with the New Mill Male Voice Choir, it was announced this week.

One of the world’s best-known opera singers of the past 40 years, Sir Willard is loved by conductors, musical directors and audiences alike for his rich bass voice, commanding stage presence and versatility.

He has performed at the world’s most prestigious opera houses and concert halls and will appear at Huddersfield Town Hall on October 11.

Sir Willard has recently appeared as the High Priest in Alceste at the Teatro Real in Madrid and as Klingsor in Parsifal at the Royal Opera, Covent Garden, also starring as Othello, alongside Sir Ian McKellen, with the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
