She made her name as Tracy Beaker but actress Dani Harmer will be taking to the stage this Easter in quite a different role, as Wendy in Peter Pan at the Victoria Theatre, Halifax.

Dani, who is also a past finalist of Strictly Come Dancing, will be joined by veteran comedian Bobby Davro, playing sidekick Smee, and Lloyd Warbey, presenter of Disney’s Art Attack, in the title role.

The Enchanted Entertainment production is currently on tour but will be stopping off at The Victoria for four performances on April 24 and 25.

Producer Jezz Weatherall says the show is not just an action-packed family panto with high-octane dance routines, singalong songs and sparkling costumes, it also features some amazing special effects and a live band.

Dani, 25, first appeared on stage at the age of six in the West End production of the musical Tommy by The Who. She is an old hand at pantos and until Tracy Beaker one of the highlights of her career was appearing as an extra in Harry Potter and the Philospher’s Stone.

Essex-boy Lloyd, 28, is also a panto regular but is best known for Art Attack, a programme that he watched as a child and which is now his claim to fame.

But the comic content of Peter Pan will be supplied by Bobby, whose Saturday night ITV shows in the 1980s and 1990s rode high in the ratings.

In more recent years he has turned to acting, appearing in the role of Vinnie Monks in Eastenders, and in 2010 was a contender in Dancing on Ice for ITV. Bobby is a seasoned panto performer.

Tickets for the show, priced from £17.50 to £19.50, are available from 01422 351158 or from the website.
