There’s a season of great musicals ahead in West Yorkshire - just the thing to brighten up the autumn.

From Western-inspired classics to a stage version of a much-loved Disney musical, a ballroom bonanza and a whole lotta soul, this season's musicals are hot tickets indeed.

Tickets are on sale now for top shows at the Alhambra, Huddersfield's Lawrence Batley Theatre, West Yorkshire Playhouse and Leeds Grand Theatre — booking details are below.

Here are six of the best musicals for the autumn:

Annie Get Your Gun

Longwood Amateur Operatic Society’s latest venture is the well-loved show that tells the story of hotshot Annie Oakley and Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. The Glenn Miller Story

National treasure Tommy Steele stars in this biographical musical of the famous band leader who disappeared during a flight over the English Channel on the way to entertain troops during the Second World War. The production, which broke records at the London Palladium, also features a live 16-piece orchestra and will thrill audiences wth renditions of In the Mood, Moonlight Serenade and Chattanooga Choo Choo, among other big band hits. Alhambra Theatre, Bradford, November 2 to December 10

This stage production is based on the magical Walt Disney film and includes famous numbers from the musical score, such as Supercalifragilistic-expialidocious, Jolly Holiday and Feed the Birds, as well as new songs and additional music by an Olivier award-winning team. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield, November 9 to 12.

Huddersfield Musical Theatre Company produces the musical based on the Steve Martin film comedy set in the French Riviera. This is a North of England premiere and promises an all-singing, all-dancing comic romp as a suave con-man and a small time crook compete to swindle a young heiress out of a fortune. Strictly Ballroom The Musical

West Yorkshire Playhouse, Leeds, November 30 to January 21, 2017.

This new musical, from Baz Luhrmann, creator of Moulin Rouge and The Great Gatsby, is based on his now-classic film and premieres in Leeds. It will star Gemma Sutton in the iconic role of Fran and Sam Lips as Scott in a story that twirls and shimmies its way through championship ballroom dancing and burgeoning love between the central characters. The Commitments

The Commitments, coming to Leeds Grand

This feelgood and funny musical is based on the BAFTA award-winning film and tells the story of a young working class music fan who pulls together a bunch of amateur musicians and transforms them into the finest soul band that Dublin can produce. More than 20 soul classics, from Try A Little Tenderness and Reach Out to River Deep Mountain High and Mustang Sally, make this a singalong show.
