TOP flautist Nicola Hunter has been lined up to lead Dewsbury’s lunchtime concert.

The musician has previously worked with the BBC Philharmonic and Hallé and brings her talents to Dewsbury Town Hall on Wednesday, March 10.

Nicola has taken part in many flute master classes with well known flautists including James Galway, William Bennett, Geoffrey Gilbert and Aureole Nicolet.

She currently works as a freelance musician playing flute, piccolo and alto flute and has a successful career working with many of the major British orchestras including the BBC Philharmonic, Hallé and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic.

She has performed many solo concerti and has given recital concerts all over Great Britain, working in chamber music groups and has appeared on television with regular appearances on Songs of Praise.

The musician started her musical studies at Chetham’s School of Music, Manchester, initially playing oboe before changing to the flute. She later studied at Bretton Hall College in Yorkshire and then at the Royal Northern College of music with Trevor Wye, Kate Hill and Colin Chambers and on piccolo with Patricia Morris.

The town hall concert on March 10 starts at 12.30pm. Tickets are now on sale priced £4 or £3 for concessions and are available at the Booking Office on 01924 324501.
