DRAMA and Media Students from the University of Huddersfield brought to life the punk era of the late 1970s when they performed Angela Truby’s tribute to the Sex Pistols’ final UK gig, ‘Anarchy, Cake and Trifle’ at the University’s Milton Building.

The author travelled up from the Midlands to watch her work performed by the students who put on four performances spread over two nights.

She said: “It was fantastic to work with the students on the show, they’re a very talented and hard working group and a real credit to the drama dept.

“The shows went very well with good audiences who enjoyed it, and it was lovely to meet some genuine 1977 punks who came to show us their photographs and other memorabilia from Christmas day 1977.

“Although not from Huddersfield myself, I’ve found the people to be very warm, friendly and eager to help us. It’s been a wonderful experience.”
