IF YOU have always fancied singing in a small friendly group, then now’s your chance.

Well-known local singer Jane Hobson runs Hobson’s Chorus, a small male voice choir and they want to recruit new voices.

Go along and listen to them on Saturday, April 25 when they will be singing as part of an open day at Clayton West Methodist Church.

The choir was formed six years ago and rehearses on Wednesday evenings at the church in Wakefield Road, Clayton West.

It is a venue that they share with other groups including Shepley Band and visitors to the open day (11am to 2pm) will be able to see community dance as well as hear music from the band and the singers.

Jane hopes that the open day might encourage some of those who hear them to join their ranks and try singing for themselves.

“We would like to increase the membership to at least 18 which we had when the choir was formed.

“There must be a lot of men out there who are fond of singing but have never thought of joining a choir. Now here’s your chance.”

In the meantime if you want more details you can contact Jane on 865558 or the secretary, Geoff Simpson, on 01484 865021.
