July will be the funniest month at the Lawrence Batley Theatre, as it hosts three Edinburgh Festival Preview Comedy Cellar events.

Justin Moorhouse, best known for his role as Young Kenny in Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights, and as the winner of Celebrity Mastermind, will take to the stage on Thursday, July 10.

His exuberant personality and cheeky Northern charm have made him a firm favourite on the comedy circuit and led to him becoming the City Life Comedian of the Year.

Joining Justin will be Kiri Pritchard-McLean, whose dark, topical humour will perfectly complement his hearty approach.

On Thursday, July 17, spirit comedian Ian D Montfort will baffle and amaze audiences by talking to dead celebrities.

Previous Fringe performances have received rave reviews. He is appearing alongside Ivan Brackenbury, whose trademark ineptness as a hospital DJ has audiences in stitches.

Heading the finale of the Fringe Preview, on Thursday, July 24, will be Matt Forde, weekly guest on The Jon Richardson Show and former political advisor to the Labour party; and Mike Wilkinson, who began his career by reaching the final of So You Think You’re Funny New Act?
