GOOD food and a good laugh. What better combination for a night out.

And who more suited to play host than a man who is as quick with the stir-fries as he is with the one-liners.

Book your seats at the Lawrence Batley Theatre next month for a mouth-watering stage show in the company of broadcaster, raconteur, writer and cook, Hardeep Singh Kohli.

This is the man who combines comedy with inventive cuisine in a wonderfully funny, laid back evening’s entertainment.

Glasgow’s most famous Sikh export returns to Huddersfield on September 24 with his show, The Nearly Naked Chef.

The former BBC One Show presenter and Celebrity Masterchef debuted the show at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it played to sell-out audiences.

This is an extended, two-course version of that menu, offering still more gags and recipes.

What is on offer is a tasty mix of stories and aromatic stir-fries.

And audience members can join in.

Don’t forget to mention the venue as Hardeep’s stop-over in Huddersfield is part of a tour. Earlier this year Hardeep brought his cooking and comedy talents to Holmfirth as part of the town’s arts festival.

He said: “The common misconception is that I’m a stand up comedian, but I’ve never actually done stand up.

“After five years (of being on TV) people said I’d better do a gig but I just didn’t feel funny enough. But come to mine if you want to get some food and have a laugh.”

Hardeep will doubtless be happy to be back in the area as he has family in the town including his great uncle, Ajit Singh the marathon runner.
