AS COMEDY line-ups go, this one’s a cracker. It kicks off tomorrow with Rich Hall, accompanied by his alter ego Otis Lee Crenshaw, continues with Lord of the Mince (his words not ours) Julian Clary and then brings on quick change artist Ennio Marchietto.

If you are still standing and able to deal with any more laughs then the Lawrence Batley Theatre has lined up yet more comedy talent to keep the gags flowing until Christmas.

These are the main house maestros, the gag-masters who can fill the house and leave the box office wishing it had more tickets to sell.

Rich Hall kicks off the hilarity tomorrow with a deadpan grouchy persona that makes his imaginary side-kick, redneck jailbird Otis Lee Crenshaw, look like Mr Sunshine.

He’ll be let out of jail for the second half of the show but first, the fun is all down to Mr Hall, Perrier Award winner and Edinburgh Festival favourite.

The gags start to flow at 8pm and box office is on 01484 430528.

You might struggle to get a ticket for Julian Clary who arrives on October 1 with a show that celebrates his 25 years in the spotlight. Be prepared for quick wit and no holds barred in an evening with a man who says he has done for mincing what Michael Flatley did for Irish dancing.

A quick change of pace leads the comedy bill to October 19 and a laugh out loud night of origami and theatre from the unique Ennio Marchetto.

Paper costumes, split second changes and total hysteria with a performer who can morph from Tina Turner to Boy George in the bat of an eyelash.

Multi-award winning comedian John Bishop is one of the hottest comedy acts currently on the road.

This autumn he brings his new show, Elvis Has Left The Building, to Huddersfield. John is at the age when Elvis died. See how this born storyteller sees that one on November 19.

And for a pre-Christmas finale, who better than Jeremy Hardy, one of the sharpest comedians on the circuit and sure of a warm welcome back at the LBT?

Box office for all these gigs and more details on 01484 430528.
