THERE’S a familiar face from the telly coming up at a comedy night in Huddersfield.

Seymour Mace, best-known for his regular appearances as twins Craig and Steve with Johnny Vegas in BBC2’s Ideal, is at the Peacock Lounge tomorrow.

He’s a honed performer who started off in street theatre and then trained as a clown before turning to stand-up.

It wasn’t long before he was performing at all the major clubs in the UK and became best breakthrough act in the 2004 North West Comedy Awards and City Life comedian of the year in 2003.

Mace appears at the Viaduct Street venue as part of its regular Huddersfield Laughter Lounge nights, where punters get to see a combination of pro comics that would normally cost well over a tenner to see on their own in a theatre.

Londoner John Gordillo is on the bill with him on Saturday, back behind a mic after a few years out directing comedy.

His credits in that role include Eddie Izzard’s Unrepeatable and Live At The Ambassadors shows and any number of Edinburgh shows.

He has just returned home from gigs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with a bucketful of five-star reviews.

Holding it all together is MC and Laughter Lounge booker Rob Riley.

Tickets at £10 are available at the Peacock Lounge, Sleepers Bar (two doors down) and Wall Of Sound on John William Street.
