MAKE a date with Huddersfield’s dance talent tomorrow in a power packed performance at Huddersfield Town Hall.

There are expected to be about 120 young dancers taking part in a show to raise funds for the Mayor’s Charity, the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.

The show has been produced by Huddersfield dancer and choreographer Suzie Calvert and Errol Barrows of Kirklees Council.

They have brought together dance talent from schools across the town including two of the newest, Suzie’s Rhythmix Dance School which is based at HD1 Dance who are also taking part. Both schools are less than a year old.

Alongside them will be some of the town’s long established schools including the Audrey Spencer School of Theatre Dance where Suzie did some of her early dance training.

Also featured are dancers from two other long established schools, the Adele Taylor School of Theatre Dance and the Bernadette Heys School of Theatre Dance.

Synergy Dance Company will be strutting its stuff as will the performers from Doreen France and Friends.

This is a night which will showcase the talents of dance performers from beginners to advanced dancers of all ages.

There will be something for everyone with a wide range of pieces offering everything from contemporary and jazz dance to show-stopping familiar numbers choreographed with the Town Hall setting in mind.

It’s a chance to applaud some of the town’s young dancers and to back their efforts to raise money for one of Huddersfield’s biggest charities.

Suzie has worked with a number of the town’s operatic societies and is fast building a career as a choreographer and dance teacher.

Dancers from Suzie’s school, Rhythmix Dance School will open the show with a high-energy series of pieces including The Way You Make Me Feel and Give Me Everything.

HD1’s programme will include Jack is Back, Peter Pan and Irish Dance.

Synergy Dance Company will dance Get ‘cha Hand in the Game, Unfaithful and Disco Inferno.

From the Bernadette Heys School of Theatre Dance there will be pieces on How to Burlesque, plus True Colours and Thriller.

Dancers from the Adele Taylor School of Dance have gone for Wicked, Street Dance and Hide and Seek.

From the Audrey Spencer School of Theatre Dance expect Chatanooga Choo Choo, Cotton Eyed Joe and Dance with the Devil.

Doreen France and Friends will be celebrating New York, New York, Wild West and I’ve Got Rhythm.

Tickets are priced at £5 and are available from Huddersfield Visitor Information in the main reception of Huddersfield Library, tel: 01484 223200. The performance starts at 7pm
