Life’s a beach - or it will be in Greenhead Park.

Huddersfield’s biggest park will become a seaside rendezvous over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The organisers of Kirklees’ biggest mobile beach are promising to provide all the main ingredients of a famous seaside resort when they bring the sand into Huddersfield for the Spring Bank Holidays.

Come to the Beach takes place in Greenhead Park for the holidays with a giant beach area complete with deck chairs and buckets and spades, Punch and Judy on selected days, plus its own seaside funfair with family rides and attractions.

“Best of all,” says co-organiser Stewart Robinson, “Once you have entered the event all the rides and the beach are included in the one price.

“While the younger ones can build the perfect sandcastle or check out the entertainment, mum and dad can sit back and relax with an ice cold drink or enjoy a bite to eat.”
