We're weeks away from Honley Show 2014 - the 91st agricultural show at the Farnley Tyas showground, surrounded by beautiful countryside as far as the eye can see.

Hoardes of people will be heading to Honley on Saturday June 14 for a day of entertainment, with the main ring boasting everything from birds of prey to sheep racing, a tractor parade and - in honour of the Tour de France coming to Yorkshire in July - cycle racing by Holmfirth Cycle Club.

The site has plenty of parking, and is only 15 minutes from Huddersfield and 30 minutes from Wakefield.

People arriving by car can head to the site via the A629 from either the M1 or M62 - as can be expected, the show does cause some congestion on the roads, so setting off in plenty of time is advisable.

Routes to the showground are signposted within a five mile-radius - leave the A629 at Kirkburton and follow the signs to the car parks.

A one way system around the show field operates from 9am, and a traffic team will be on hand to direct vehicles.

Honley Rail Station is less than two miles from the showground, with trains running hourly on Saturdays. The journey from Huddersfield to Honley takes around 10 minutes.

Alternatively, buses to Honley run regularly from Huddersfield Bus Station and from Northgate in the town centre.

A free bus service also runs through Honley village to the showground, leaving from Moor Bottom, opposite the Trinity Church, from 9am on Show day.

The last bus back to the village leaves the show site at 6pm.
