Jump for joy if your children love to go to trampoline parks.

Huddersfield is set to get its first dedicated place to bounce around.

While trampoline centres have sprung up all over West Yorkshire, including in Mirfield and Liversedge, none have opened in Huddersfield.

Now a company called Let’s Jump has been given the green light to convert a former factory in Moldgreen into a giant place to play, creating about 14 jobs in the process.

It will be at the former Polyseam premises at Silver Street, just off Wakefield Road.

Let’s Jump says it “mystery shopped” rival venues and found they were all fully booked for weeks in advance.

And it said the only suitable venue it could find in Huddersfield is the Silver Street one.

It says it will have a capacity of 55 ‘bouncers’ and will hold general freestyle sessions, more formal team based sessions and a range of fitness programmes.

The facility will feature 19 trampolines split over two areas, have a refreshments area and is set to open seven days a week.

The bad news for parents is there will be a restriction on ages use for the trampolines to over fives.

Kirklees Council supported the plan as it believed many people were travelling outside of the borough to find similar facilities.
