Youngsters had a ‘wicked’ time when a West End dancer dropped by to give them a stage masterclass in Huddersfield.
The class, led by Nathan Graham, took place as part of The Dance Zone, a summer course for youngsters at The Zone, St Andrew’s Road, has been running a week-long course based on the musical ‘Wicked’.
During the week participants have been studying the stage show, costume and prop design as well as rehearsing scripts and songs and taking part in performing arts.
The course will count towards their Bronze Arts Award qualification.
And it was an extra special treat when Nathan visited the club, on Tuesday, in between his performing schedule.
The youngsters will also see Wicked during its current run at Bradford Alhambra.
The musical, which takes an alternative take on the Wizard of Oz, has been a theatre smash since 2003.
Wicked, which has broken several records for its box office takings, tells the well-known tale from the perspective of the witches from the Land of Oz.
The production, with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, is based on the book written by Winnie Holzman.
The Zone is running summer camps all week, including an Olympics themed summer camp on August 15 to 19.
