So many of us love our TV soaps and Coronation Street, Emmerdale, EastEnders and Hollyoaks will be bringing their biggest and best storylines for over the festive season.

You can always expect plenty of love, laughter, tantrums and tears in the soaps at Christmas, and this year is no exception.

Here is everything you need to know about our favourite soaps and the storylines for Christmas week (19th December onwards).

Coronation Street, ITV

Will Robert and Tracey get their happy ever after?

Robert plans to propose to Tracey on Christmas Day, but she's distracted by Rob, who tells her he could be released from jail on a technicality and wants to pick up where they left off. She's thrown by his words and initially claims she will wait for him, little realising he is planning to inform Robert about her duplicity. Rob also puts pressure on Johnny, pushing him to breaking point.

Will Kylie and David manage to patch things up?

Meanwhile, Nick urges David to make it up with Kylie, but matters go from bad to worse between the pair. However, she makes a big gesture that may just make him realise they could have a future together. Kevin and Anna grow closer, and end up spending December 25 together at Tim and Sally's.

Plus, Tyrone's winter wonderland goes down a treat with an ailing Hope - but will his surprise for her mother please Fiz?

EastEnders, BBC1

There is set to be plenty of drama in Albert Square

It's going to be a dramatic Christmas for Stacey as she braces herself to tell the truth about the baby's parentage, only for Kush to change his mind after Shabnam receives some upsetting news.

However, when Stacey then goes into labour during Lily's nativity play, it seems one resident might just have noted the date, done a quick bit of mental arithmetic, and successfully put two and two together...

The feud between the Mitchells and the Hubbards continues to escalate, as Vincent comes up with a dangerous revenge plot, and Ronnie is forced to decide where her loyalties lie. Meanwhile, Sharon is furious when Bobby turns his anger issues on Dennis, and when Kathy then tells her exactly how Jane came to fall down the stairs, she drops a bombshell that could tear the Beales apart.

So, with at least three families at war, just who will get caught in the crossfire and end up celebrating their last Christmas on the Square?

Over at the Vic, Linda schemes to reunite Mick and Shirley while Dean sulks at home. Billy attempts to pop the question to Honey, Dot scatters Jim's ashes, and Kat pays a surprise visit.

Emmerdale, ITV

Will the Dingles have a peaceful Christmas dinner?

Aaron is desperate to buy Diane's share of the pub, mainly to stop Robert getting his hands on it. So, in theory, he should be pleased when Gordon turns up in the village this week and offers to give him the money, but instead he's angry that his dad is trying to buy his affections.

Desperate to get the cash some other way, Aaron agrees to act as lookout while Ross robs a warehouse, but he could need Gordon's help after all when the robbery hits the news, along with an incriminating image from the scene of the crime.

Elsewhere, Ashley realises he can't face his illness without Laurel, but Harriet is hurt to see the couple reunited.

Belle plots revenge after spotting Zak and Joanie kissing, leaving her dad afraid she might share the news with the rest of the Dingles over Christmas dinner.

Lachlan sees a chance to make some money out of David, Vanessa is nervous about little Johnny's homecoming, and Pollard's plans to spend Christmas stewing on his own are ruined by Cheryl the dog.

And there's a Christmas treat for soap fans as a guest checks into the B&B, played by guest star Liz Dawn (aka Vera Duckworth).

Hollyoaks, Channel 4

Leela is more forgiving towards Ziggy

There doesn't seem to be much chance of Leela and Cameron calling a Christmas truce, as she tells him he'll never see his daughter again.
However, she's more forgiving towards Ziggy, as when he calls round to her new flat, they are so busy reminiscing, he forgets the purpose of the visit was to drop off Peri's present.

When he returns with the gift, he discovers that there's a gas leak in Leela's flat, and she's locked inside. Can Ziggy get her out in time, and is he right to suspect that Cameron was somehow involved?

Elsewhere, Porsche is baffled to learn that Derek has left her a considerable inheritance. Sadly the money doesn't buy her happiness, and she ends up in a fight with Reenie, which the cops have to break it up. As her mum faces the prospect of going back to jail, Porsche softens and offers her a way out...

Ste is arrested, seemingly ruining any chances he had of reconciling with Harry, but Tony isn't taking any chances as he tries to convince John Paul his ex still loves him.
Over at the Lovedays, Zack is hurt when Theresa breaks up with him, so Lisa comforts him with a kiss and admits she isn't really his sister.
