Sarah Lancashire's gripping performance in BBC One drama Happy Valley has landed her a National Television Award (NTA) Nomination.

Her role as police sergeant Catherine Cawood won the actress praise from critics and viewers alike, and now Lancashire is up for the Drama Performance award at this year's ceremony, which is on ITV tonight from 7.30pm to 10pm.

And fans were thrilled to see the return of Happy Valley teased in BBC One's trailer for 2015.

Competing for the accolade for top drama performance tonight are Sherlock's Benedict Cumberbatch and Happy Valley's Sarah Lancashire, as well as Sheridan Smith (Cilla) and her namesake Dame Maggie Smith (Downton Abbey).

Also up for an award is Game of Thrones, starring Shelley's own Lena Headey.

Sky have announced the premiere date for the acclaimed drama's series five opener, with plenty of questions left unanswered in series four's dramatic finale.

Game of Thrones is nominated in the Multi-Channel category, alongside The Walking Dead, Geordie Shore and Celebrity Juice.

The NTAs are voted for by the public, with 15 awards up for grabs in categories including factual, drama, comedy, chat show host and TV judge.

Don't forget, the winners will be announced at a televised ceremony at London's 02 Arena on ITV tonight from 7.30pm to 10pm.
