Fancy a cheap trip to the cinemas to see the latest blockbuster films?
Your day out could end up costing a lot more than you'd expect, as some cinemas across the UK charge up to 300% more than others, according to a new study by money-saving website Voucherbox.co.uk .
Standard ticket prices were compared at Odeon , Cineworld and Vue cinemas across the UK, on the same day and time , for the latest Marvel movie X-Men: Apocalypse that is out in cinemas now, and the price difference was huge.
Out of the cinemas that were looked at, it was Vue's Cardiff Stadium Plaza that came out on top at the cheapest as they charge just £4 for an adult ticket, whereas the same can be found at Vue's London West End cinema on Leicester Square for a whopping £15.99 !
You might expect things to be a little pricier in the capital though, so in comparison, outside of London it's Manchester that is the most expensive place to get an adult cinema ticket and it will set you back £12 per person.
The price of tickets differ between cities at all three of the big cinema chains, but it is Vue that has the biggest disparity of 300%.
After that it's Odeon, which has an increase of 127% between different places, meaning that Cineworld is the best value chain for cinema goers as its most expensive cinema in London has tickets for £13.60 each, and its cheapest tickets in Birmingham are £9.60, making the difference 42%.
