Oh we do like to be beside the seaside - and a fun day out on the coast is just a couple of hours drive away from Huddersfield

Many of Yorkshire's east coast and North Yorkshire resorts have been included in the 2015 Good Beach Guide, which rates beaches according to how clean the sea is and how suitable it is for swimming and paddling.

Compiled by the Marine Conservation Society, this year's online guide allows people to search for beaches in any postcode, county or town, with information on projected water quality, lifeguard provision and whether dogs are allowed on the beach.

A total of 18 Yorkshire beaches have been projected a rating of 'excellent' or 'good' in this year's Good Beach Guide.
