Is there anything more British than afternoon tea?

Delicious cakes, delicate sandwiches, and a hot pot of fresh tea to enjoy — maybe even prosecco if you’re fancy.

This week is Afternoon Tea Week in the UK — so we’ve round up some places to enjoy a scone or two in Huddersfield.

Sadly Creams is off the menu at the moment as it's opening a brand new tea room in the town centre — but we've included it in our list as we're sure that when it does open, tea-lovers will be flocking to try it!

From town centre tea shops to farm shops, a variety of venues are serving up tempting afternoon teas — here are five to try.

We’re currently waiting for the new and improved Creams tearoom to open in Huddersfield town centre — but we couldn’t leave it off our list! Creams styled itself on the nostalgia of traditional British tea rooms, and if its temping window of macarons and cakes doesn’t draw you in, its sumptuous afternoon tea might! The tea room offers a British version, with the usual sandwiches, scones anc cakes, for £12.95 per person. For the same price you can also try its Eastern Afternoon Tea, with a ‘naanwich’, warm samosas and onion bhajis, served with scones, cakes and of course, a pot of tea.
