Aldi's popular Big Daddy steak is back in stores today (Thursday, January 18), and with a price tag of less than a fiver, it is bound to fly off the shelves in no time.

The gigantic cut of meat first hit stores last year for Father's Day, it was restocked numerous times throughout 2017, with the most recent time being in October - when stocks sold out once again.

Aldi's 16oz steak is matured for 21 days, and the budget retailer claims it's the biggest on the market for the price point.

Costing £4.99, the steak is supposedly 100g heavier and 42% cheaper than ones sold at Tesco, of a similar weight.

Julie Ashfield, Joint Managing Director of Corporate Buying at Aldi UK, said: “The 16oz ‘Big Daddy’ Extra Thick Rump Steak has been a customer favourite since it first launched and we’re delighted to bring it back as a Specialbuy once again.”

It is best cooked over a very high heat, with a resting time of up to ten minutes, according to the supermarket.

The Big Daddy steak will be in stores for one day only, so if you want to get your hands on one it's best to head down to your nearest Aldi before they all sell out - as it is only available while stocks last.

If you aren't a fan of steak, you can also buy Louisiana BBQ Pork Riblets (£2.19), a Piri Piri whole chicken ( £3.99) and Garlic and Herb Coated Prawns with Sour Cream and Chive Dip (£2.99).
