A new seafood restaurant has opened its doors in Holmfirth.

The second branch of Catch Seafood has opened one year on from the introduction of the original eaterie in West Vale.

The restaurant, in Woodhead Road, has taken over the former Toad and Tatie site.

Owner Lee Roberts, who created the Catch concept, has a passion for the sea and a love of fresh seafood.

He said: “Catch has been a lifelong dream, I have been working towards this concept for over 20 years.

“It is an amazing feeling to be opening our second restaurant only a year after we brought the Catch Seafood brand to market. Seafood has many benefits, not only the fantastic flavour combinations our chefs can create, but also for its health and nutritional values.

“I wanted to create a specialist fish restaurant that offered the freshest seafood I could find.”

The Catch menu offers everything from traditional fish and chips to a Catch of the Day and seafood bisque, as well as the Catch Seafood Grill.

All fish is as fresh as possible, kept on ice and sourced by Lee himself.

In fact, Lee and his chefs recently ventured to Reykjavik in Iceland to fish on local trawlers to find the best and freshest products on the market.

He said: “We have been looking for perfect site for our second Catch, we spotted The Toad and Tatie and thought it had great potential.

“We have undertaken pub renovations in the past and knew it had just what we were looking for; we could create the right atmosphere and feel that we wanted. Holmfirth is a fantastic town and we saw space for our seafood restaurant.”

Manager Oliver Lawson said: “After the success of Catch West Vale I can’t wait to take on the challenge of the Catch Concept in a pub environment. The drinks menu needs to compliment the food offering and chefs’ dishes perfectly, we have a few surprises up our sleeves.”
