Lindor Spring Easter Egg filled with chocolate truffles
Lindor Spring Easter Egg filled with chocolate truffles

Limited edition seasonal treat that is worth shopping around for. Good-sized egg and a selection of Lindor assorted truffles on the side.

Value for money: High quality chocolate at an affordable price. 4/5

Carluccio’s Chocolate Bunnies, £6.95 each

Carluccio's milk and dark chocolate bunnies. £6.95 each.

Some of the cutest chocolate bunnies around. The jumpers in jumpers come in both dark and milk chocolate and are a lot of fun. It almost seems a pity to start biting their ears off and gobbling them up.

Value for money: More of a novelty item than a treat for chocolate lovers. 3/5

Godiva 8 Piece Cello Of Pops, £8

Value for money: High end price, but a decadent delight. 3/5

Hotel Chocolat Caramel Egg Sandwich, £10

Hotel Chocolat Caramel Egg Sandwich £10

Deserves an award for the most creative Easter treat around. Comes in a sandwich container, but the contents inside are pure chocolate with the sides decorated with a sweet-tasting egg.

Value for money: Costs more than a cheese sarnie, but tastes much better. 5/5

Waitrose Freeze Dried Raspberry Egg, £7

Waitrose Freeze Dried Raspberry Egg, £7

Not sure if you can count this as one of your five a day, but the mix of raspberries and chocolates is very more-ish.

Value for money: A superior egg that is worth spending a little bit more on. 4/5

Tesco Finest Belgian dark chocolate egg with hand finished chocolates, £10

Tesco Finest Belgium dark chocolate egg with hand finished chocolates £10

This dark chocolate modern take on the traditional egg shape is appealing and embellished with a white chocolate splash and crunchy butterscotch beads. The “hand-finished” chocolates (just four) are pleasant but the flavours (Tahitian vanilla and passion fruit and mango) are perfumey and indistinct. At 53% cocoa content it’s not one for die-hard bitter chocolate devotees but would make an elegant gift for someone special.

Value for money: A fair purchase for a good-looking egg. 4/5

Carluccio’s Basket Of Chocolate Eggs, £7.95

Carluccio's Basket of Chocolate Eggs £7.95

Six medium sized chocolate eggs in a mix of dark, milk and white chocolate presented in a cute brown paper basket. Tastes like good quality chocolate and not too sickly.

Value for money: Not cheap but worth it. 4/5

M&S Nancy Hen, £10

M&S Nancy Hen, £10

A little scary looking, but if you can ignore the beaky stare then this a delicious blend of white and milk chocolate. Decapitating Nancy seems very wrong, but she’s certainly tasty.

Value for money: Great chocolate taste, but a hen with attitude. 4/5
