Huddersfield is awash with events for beer-lovers this weekend.

As well as Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival in St George’s Square, revellers can enjoy a real ale and cocktail pub crawl, DJ sets and craft beers at Magic Rock Brewery and a Bavarian Bierkeller at town centre club Tokyo.

If you’re feeling adventurous you could plan to visit all three — here are the details you need.

Four days, 90 stalls and a good mix of real ale, cocktail and craft beer bars. The festival, back for its 16th year, will host bars from Slaithwaite’s Empire Brewing, Freedom Brewery, The Armitage Bridge Club, Nook Brewhouse, The Sportsman and more, giving visitors plenty of options when it comes to washing down a hearty festival burger.

The Real Ale and Cocktail Trail

Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival's Real Ale and Cocktail Trail returns on July 16

And don’t forget the Real Ale and Cocktail Trail encompassing 14 town centre pubs and bars. The taster event, which will run until Sunday August 7, encourages drinkers to try featured real ales, ciders and cocktails at each of the trail venues, collecting stamps along the way. Pick up a card from any of the participating venues, then collect at least eight stamps to pick up your limited edition engraved glass from the Slug and Lettuce or the Sportsman.

Magic Rock Food and Drink Festival

On Sunday, you’ll fine Magic Rock’s Food and Drink Festival a short stroll away from the town centre. From noon-9pm, the Willow Lane brewery will play host to ten food stalls, DJs and of course, lots of craft beer. Entry is free.
