Huddersfield pub joins nationwide celebration of Queen's birthday - watch the video here

Free meal on offer at Toby Carvery to those sharing special day

A Huddersfield pub is joining a nationwide celebration of the Queen’s 90th birthday.

Anyone who shares their birthday with the Queen on Thursday can get a free meal at the Toby Carvery in Ainley Top.

And the pub chain have even made a spoof video showing how the Royals might tuck into their meat and two veg.

The film was created by BAFTA award-winning celebrity artist, Alison Jackson, to show how the royal family might be celebrating the landmark occasion.

After roast dinners all round, the “Queen” is presented with a celebration cake complete with a ‘90’ candle and a card from Toby Carvery. Finally, Her Royal Highness opens presents including a very British corgi cushion.

Rachel Westwood, marketing manager at Toby Carvery, said: “As we mark 90 years of a true British icon, we felt it was only right as Home of the Roast, to celebrate with another much-loved classic.

“To celebrate the Queen’s birthday, Toby Carvery restaurants nationwide are offering anyone who shares her special day a free roast dinner on theirs. Those born on April 21 can enjoy a free birthday roast by simply taking a take a form of identification to their local Toby Carvery on Thursday.”
