McDonalds customers will enjoy table service at Huddersfield restaurants in the near future.

The fast-food chain has announced plans to roll out table service across all its UK restaurants, starting next month, aimed at transforming the dining experience for visitors.

After successful trials in selected branches, beginning in Mottram in Greater Manchester, the concept will be introduced nationwide from October and rolled out in the next couple of years.

Diners will be able to order and customise their meals on tablets and touch-screen kiosks, then staff will deliver the food direct to their table.

In November last year Huddersfield's Kirkgate restaurant was one of the first in the country to introduce the self-service ordering kiosks, digital menu boards and tables with the built-in Samsung tablets for customers.
