The county’s greatest pubs and breweries have been woven together to create Yorkshire’s Delicious Ale Trail.

Welcome to Yorkshire has mapped the best brew houses across God’s own country, comprised of the finalists of its Yorkshire’s Favourite Pubs competition.

Number one on the trail is competition winner The Fleece in Barkisland, which was crowned the people’s favourite at a ceremony at the Great Yorkshire Show earlier this month.

Sir Gary Verity, Lee Roberts of The Fleece Inn, and Matthew Wolfenden, Emmerdale actor

Beer drinkers from across Yorkshire nominated and voted for their favourite pubs to create the map, with the pubs ranked by popularity.

The 30-point map covers all four corners of the county, from Richmond in the north, Bridlington in the east, Doncaster in the south and Keighley in the west.

It would be quite a feat to visit all 30 pubs and bars in one day — but the map will help thirsty visitors to find the best ale houses in their area and beyond.

The project aims to help visitors and locals alike find a friendly pub and a tasty pint no matter where they are in Yorkshire.

Welcome to Yorkshire said: “Our Delicious Ale Trail map allows you to find your way to the excellent ales around the county so wherever you are or whatever you are doing, get ready to enjoy a proper pint or two — a real taste to savour.”

The second spot on the trail is second place winner The Bull Inn in Ripon, while third place is taken by The Royal Oak, also in Ripon.
