Calling all burger buffs - a north west phenomenon is coming to Leeds.

Almost Famous, the trendy burger chain that often has visitors happily queuing for two hours for its impossibly stacked, mouth-watering creations, will open it's fourth restaurant in Great George Street in Leeds city centre tomorrow.

And Examiner reporter Samantha Robinson will get a sneak preview of the Almost Famous Leeds menu tonight - look out for our review, pictures and video tonight (Weds).

The company began in Manchester's Northern Quarter two years ago and attracted legions of carnivores for its messy, calorific burgers, with names including the Baddaboom, the Chilli Chilli Chilli Cheeseburger and the River Phoenix.

Its side orders include pulled pork smothered fries, are served with 'baconnaise', and there's also 'crack wings' with a choice of sauce: 'suicide', 'redneck' or the eyebrow raising 'pho-king amazing'.

If the Manchester and Liverpool branches are anything to go by, there will soon be queues spilling out of the Leeds restaurant - the website warns visitors that on Friday and Saturday nights, they could be facing a two -hour wait for a table.
