And, with the show lasting from 7.15pm to just short of 10pm (interval included), you’re hardly shortchanged.

Don’t forget to admire the effort and countless hours put into the scenery.

There’s a very clever scene involving fluorescent fish too.

It’s also traditional in that Dick Whittington (Jayne Davison) and his chosen one Alice Fitzwarren (Gemma Clarkson) end up with a white wedding rather than a civil partnership.

Dick Whittington runs at the LBT every evening except Wednesday until Saturday at 7.15pm with tickets priced from £12 to £6 with concessions.

There is a matinee at 2.15pm on Saturday.
