STORYTELLER Christine McMahon is bringing her witty, inspiring and magical tale Goosewing to Holmfirth later this month.

The Yorkshire artiste, a member of the Hebden Bridge-based Shaggy Dog Storytelling Club, has travelled widely as a performer and is internationally renowned for her craft.

Christine wrote Goosewing after being specially commissioned by Festival at the Edge, the international storytelling event which takes place every July in Shropshire, and describes it as a “bittersweet tale of loss, hope and redemption”, adding; “You may even discover what use is a goose!”

During her performance Christine will be accompanied by violinist Paul Robert.

The evening of storytelling at Holmfirth Civic Hall on Thursday, March 21, is suitable for 12 years and over. Tickets for the event, priced £3 and £2, are available from Holmfirth Library, Holmfirth Tourist Information Centre, any Kirklees box office by calling 01484 223200, or online at kirklees.gov.uk/townhalls
